Hydrolab – The student-run community garden of the future.
2021, 2022 Solo Senior Capstone Project
About
The Hydrolab is a (fictional) indoor garden that connects students at UC to the futuristic farming technology known as hydroponics. It needed a brand strategy and visual system that gets the unfamiliar up to speed on hydroponic farming while still feeling grounded and accessible.
Beginning with a semester of research into the topics of hydroponics and education, I aimed to better understand my audience and my “client.” Laying out the main touchstones of the Hydrolab, I focused the organization’s goals into three northstar principles that would then guide my design decisions as I developed it’s visual system.
I followed my own brand guidelines to print a risograph instructional booklet, design environmental and social elements, as well as Hydrolab-branded physical takeaways.
